Rome’s MIA Market Launches Revamped 12th Edition Featuring Top Global Talent
By Editorial Staff•Thu, Oct 1, 2026

Rome's prestigious International Audiovisual Market (MIA) is set to launch its 12th edition with a revamped format, expanding its physical venues to historic hotels along the iconic Via Veneto while establishing direct structural synergies with the Rome Film Festival.
Under the guidance of MIA Director Gaia Tridente, the event's dates will overlap with the Rome Film Festival to transform the Eternal City into a unified global hub for television, film, animation, and documentary industries. Accredited industry buyers attending MIA will also receive direct access to morning press and industry screenings at both the main festival and its youth-focused Alice in the City sidebar.
The upcoming market will feature high-profile keynote sessions and fireside chats with key figures, including Oscar-winning director Edward Berger (All Quiet on the Western Front), acclaimed documentary filmmaker Asif Kapadia (Amy), British director Kim Longinotto, and Banijay Entertainment CEO Marco Bassetti. Additionally, Trevor Roth, COO of Roddenberry Entertainment, will deliver a keynote honoring the 60th anniversary of the Star Trek franchise.
More than 100 international projects hailing from 43 countries will be showcased across various development stages. Highlights include a preview of Sky Italia’s upcoming drama Gucci: Game Over, directed by Gabriele Muccino, and a series of industry panels examining the integration of artificial intelligence across the production value chain.
