Michelin 24H Series Moves Opening Round from Dubai to South Africa’s Kyalami Circuit
By Editorial Staff•Wed, Sep 30, 2026

In a historic shift for international motorsport, Dutch event organizer Creventic has announced that the season-opening round of the Michelin 24H Series will relocate from Dubai to the iconic Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in Midrand, South Africa, scheduled for January 8 to 10, 2027.The decision marks the cancellation of the traditional Dubai 24 Hours—a staple event organized by Creventic for over two decades—due to ongoing logistical challenges, freight uncertainties, and elevated operating costs across the Persian Gulf region.
According to Creventic, Kyalami emerged as the top alternative following a comprehensive review of global venues. The South African track boasts modern pit garage infrastructure, updated spectator facilities, and strong interest from international GT3 teams representing manufacturers such as Porsche, Ferrari, BMW, Mercedes-AMG, Aston Martin, and McLaren.
The upcoming endurance spectacle marks the return of top-tier international FIA-sanctioned endurance racing to South Africa for the first time since the 2023 Kyalami 9 Hour, positioning Kyalami back on the global motorsport calendar.
