Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo Buys $7.4 Million Hamptons Estate
Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has purchased a sprawling $7.4 million estate in the exclusive Southampton area of Long Island, according to public records and sources familiar with the transaction. The transaction, completed earlier this year through a limited liability company (LLC), was finalized without a mortgage on file, indicating an all-cash purchase. Set on a private 4-acre lot, the impressive property features four distinct lots with two homes, a private dock with a boathouse, a tennis court, a swimming pool with a sauna, and a 5-car garage. Sources close to the former governor described the acquisition as a long-term real estate investment. Since stepping down from public office, Cuomo has expanded his portfolio in the private sector. In March 2024, he joined the advisory board of advanced nuclear technology firm Nano Nuclear Energy, securing over $2.6 million in stock options. Additionally, he was appointed to co-chair a joint venture between a cryptocurrency enterprise and the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). While Cuomo maintains a residence in Manhattan, the high-profile real estate acquisition comes as he continues to comment on national and local political affairs. Despite his recent mayoral campaign loss in New York City to Zohran Mamdani, Cuomo has not publicly ruled out a future return to public life, remaining an active voice on state and Democratic policy.
